About the British Columbia Dental Hygienists' Association
The British Columbia Dental Hygienists' Association exists to promote the professional growth of its members; advocate for the profession of dental hygiene; and to support its members in improving the health of the public through oral health promotion.
The British Columbia Dental Hygienists’ Association (BCDHA) was formed in 1964 and is a provincial organization that represents over 2000 member dental hygienists in British Columbia. It is a nonprofit society and is a constituent member of the Canadian Dental Hygienists' Association (CDHA).
The BCDHA is dedicated to the principle that all British Columbians should have access to quality preventative oral health services provided by dental hygienists. BCDHA seeks input from and dialogue with government, the dental hygiene regulatory body and consumers to enable it to serve more effectively both its members and the public.
The BCDHA provides a range of member benefits and services, including continuing education, advocacy, promotion of the profession, counselling services, and information on employment issues and guidelines.
The BCDHA is governed by a Board of Directors whose nine members are selected through a regional election process administered by BCDHA.
