Meet Pooneh Assadimofrad

BCDHA Board of Director Elections (At-Large)

Hello! My name is Pooneh Assadimofrad and I am a Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene graduate since 2008. I have been working in the dental field for over 23 years, as my journey started as a chairside assistant in 1999. I later became a Certified Dental Assistant in 2000 and worked as both a CDA and receptionist until 2006 when I went back to school for Dental Hygiene.

Upon graduating from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2008, I was awarded three of the main awards given out by the school. I was awarded the HuFriedy Golden Scaler Award, Academic Achievement Award, and the Honor Roll Standing Award. I was also awarded the Award of Excellency upon graduating from the Certified Dental Assistant program from VCC in 2000.

I have now been working as an independent hygienist at the same office that I started at in 1999 and have built a strong bond with many of my long-term patients. I strive to provide the highest level of care and educate my patients on oral health and how to take the best care of their teeth.

I live in North Vancouver with my husband and two children. My son is a third-year dental student at the University of Queensland and my daughter is a Bachelor of General Science graduate applying to medical school. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors.

What I hope to contribute as a BCDHA board member is to find solutions that will help resolve the issues new hygienists are faced with when going through licensing, and the process of quality assurance procedures, as well as the differences in licensing of different oral health care professionals. I hope to also help make dental health more accessible to the general public and be an advocate for all dental hygienists. I truly appreciate this opportunity and hope to gain your vote as the Director At Large on the BCDHA Board of Directors.
