The situation with COVID-19 is always changing. BCDHA will continue to support members with timely and relevant updates and information as circumstances require.
COVID-19 VACCINATIONS FOR HYGIENISTS
BCDHA has disseminated information for your health authority so be sure to check your email. Specific information for each health authority is included here. You are expected to seek the vaccine in the health authority you work in, but there is recognition that this can be complicated in the Lower Mainland where you may live and work in more than one health authority simultaneously. Some crossover is not unexpected.

Update February 23, 2021
ORDER OF THE PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICER
BCDHA is proud to have advocated over the past months for dental hygienists to be included as one of the professions who will be able to provide COVID-19 vaccines. Thank you to the CDHBC and Government for supporting this advocacy work and moving the order through. Keep an eye on our site and CDHBC as more information becomes available.
BCDHA Statement on Changes to B.C.’s Vaccination Rollout
BCDHA supports the need for a phased immunization approach and recognizes that many groups and individuals are disappointed by the B.C. government’s sudden change in direction for how immunizations will roll out in our province. However, we firmly believe that the recommendations of the NACI report should be upheld in B.C. and that dental professionals should be moved to Phase 2 for several reasons.
