If you are a student in one of the dental hygiene programs in BC, be aware that there are awards from BCDHA available through your dental hygiene program.
BCDHA annually offers the following awards to student members enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene diploma program. Each award is available once per year per school.
- The BCDHA Award of Excellence is awarded to the graduating dental hygiene student who has demonstrated the highest clinical proficiency and who is a student member of the BCDHA. The award consists of a framed certificate and $500. The award recipient is chosen on the recommendation of the faculty.
- The BCDHA First-Year Achievement Award is awarded to the BCDHA student member who demonstrates the highest overall standing after completing their first year of dental hygiene studies. The award consists of a framed certificate and $300. The award recipient is chosen on the recommendation of the faculty.
The Joan Voris Award of Achievement is presented to a BCDHA member who has completed a Bachelor of Dental Science in Dental Hygiene at UBC. The recipient’s professional vision and accomplishments will embody the current BCDHA mission statement. The award consists of a framed certificate and $750 and is presented based on the recommendation of the faculty.
